Wet Paint

What is the Wet Paint line all about?

In 2012 I started a sign painting business with good friend and amazing artist Shawn Whisenant. We had been doing art shows and installations throughout the bay area together, and with a shared love for painting letters, we decided to start "Nifty". After painting a few small signs for tattoo parlors, skate shops, and re painting older signs in San Francisco, Nifty started to gain momentum, and we were painting larger scale murals, windows, and custom signs for customers as legit business. In 2014, sadly Shawn tragically passed away in his studio in San Francisco. It was a huge shock to the art community and all of those that loved him. For all of those that knew him, including myself it was a difficult time. Shawn and I would always be hustling our artwork, and the streets for sign painting jobs. I had been working for a screen printing shop, and we always spoke about starting a line of gear for people that painted. "Wet Paint", that would be the line. For sure. And so here on my website, I sell Wet Paint gear, signs, and other accessories that I make here at my studio and new business "Nifty" screen printing. Yes, I also offer sign painting services along with the screen printing business. The Wet Paint line will always be inspired by the amazing artist Shawn Whisenant. So when you are wearing your Wet Paint gear, you are also keeping his memory alive!
